San Jose and Osa Peninsula

Join me for a magical adventure through Costa Rica! From lush rainforests to stunning beaches, we’ll explore San José, Arenal, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio, immersing ourselves in nature, culture, and adventure.

Day 1: Arrive in San Jose

Arrive in San Hose and stay in a cozy hotel and meet your fellow photographers.

Day 2 : Drive to Osa Penninsula

Drive to Osa Penninsula (6 hour drive) where we will enjoy supper and relaxation as well as a tour of the quaint property.

Day 3 : Breakfast at Home Followed by Morning Safari

Breakfast at home followed by a morning Jungle Tour where our guide Randall will take us to find monkeys, beautiful colorful birds. We will then head back to our beautiful retreat house and have a delicious lunch, spend some time editing our photos, relax by the pool or head off to the beach at your leisure. We will then have a group supper and head off to the beach for a bon fire.

Day 4 : Dolphin Tour and Snorkeling

Breakfast at the retreat house then an all day Dolphin Tour where we will head out with our guides to find dolphins do some snorkeling and have lunch on a private island. We will take more time to photograph dolphins and the beautiful landscape. We will then head back to our beautiful retreat house to edit photos and relax to refresh for the next mornings adventure.

Day 5 : River Cruise

This will be an early morning where we will go on an adventurous river cruise with our guides where we will see lots of wildlife and landscape for amazing photography opportunities. We will head back to the retreat house for lunch. In the afternoon we will take a tour of the local chocolate factory for a sweet treat and guided tour. In the evening, we will have a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening editing and relaxing.

Day 6 : Sloth Garden

We will enjoy delicious breakfast at the retreat house then enjoy the morning roaming the sloth garden getting amazing shots of the 2 and 3 toed sloths then enjoy some authentic Costa Rica snacks. We will then head back to the retreat house to edit photos and relax before having a Spanish lesion. We will spend the evening with a local cook learning how to make tamales.

Day 7 : Jungle Tour

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before an early morning with our guide Randall for another jungle tour where we will get more amazing shots of monkeys, birds, sloths, landscape and much more. We will return home to the retreat house and have lunch, then spend the day wandering around the local town at your leisure. Then back to the retreat house for another delicious meal. This is a free evening to relax and edit at your leisure.

Day 8 : Relaxation Day & Drakes Bay

Breakfast at the retreat house then a relaxing morning at the spa for those of you who do not want to join in at the spa this will be a free morning for you. After the spa we will have a light snack before heading out for a picnic and sunset photography at one of Costa Rica’s beautiful Drake Bays then back to the retreat house for an evening of editing and relaxation.

Day 9 : Jungle Tour

An early morning breakfast then sunrise and a jungle tour with our guide Randall. Lunch at the retreat house. This is a free afternoon to rest up for our night walk to capture amphibians, snakes and spiders in a macro photography session. This walk will be after our delicious dinner.

Day 10 : Free Day

This is a free day to go to the beach, relax by the pool, head into town to shop or take a private tour (see host for options) All meals are still provided at the retreat house.

Day 11 : Jungle Tour and Photography Experience

Breakfast at the retreat house then our final jungle tour with Randall. A delicious lunch, then rest and recharge for our night bioluminescence photography experience. We will have a wonderful dinner prior to our evening of bioluminescence.

Day 12 : Last Day

Leave Osa Pennisula where you will stay in a hotel before flying home the next day. Enjoy your last day in San Jose and experience an authentic restaurant and a relaxing evening before you flight home.
